Kamal Khondkar is a Quantitative Researcher at ABX focused on systematic trading, derivatives, and applied artificial intelligence. With more than a decade of experience in financial markets, he combines quantitative research, market analysis, and AI-driven decision systems to better understand market behavior, risk, and decision-making under uncertainty.
He completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Applied Data Science Program, earning recognition as one of the program's top-performing participants. He also holds a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Rochester's Simon Business School and a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
Prior to joining ABX, Kamal developed expertise in derivatives, risk management, and real-time market execution. His experience navigating dynamic market environments shaped a disciplined, probabilistic approach to investing and quantitative research. Over the years, he has conducted quantitative research across equities, ETFs, options, and derivative markets, developing systematic frameworks focused on momentum, volatility, machine learning, and risk-aware portfolio construction. Kamal also serves as a Quantitative Finance Fellow with Handshake AI, contributing to projects involving financial reasoning, model evaluation, and applied artificial intelligence. He previously served as an Analytics Fellow with Education Pioneers, applying statistical analysis and predictive modeling to support organizational decision-making.
Beyond finance and technology, Kamal is the author of The Key to a Bank Job, a best-selling book in Bangladesh. His interests include behavioral finance, artificial intelligence, and complex adaptive systems.
