Jorge L. Viguera Hernandez is a quantitative researcher with a foundation in advanced mathematics and a practical approach to systematic market analysis. Born in Cuba and later educated in the United States, Jorge learned early to combine discipline, adaptability, and analytical rigor — qualities that continue to drive his work.
He earned a Master’s in Mathematical Sciences from Rutgers University, where his academic work focused on applied mathematics, probability, and computational methods. He began his career in education, developing the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and accurately — a skill set that translates directly into building and validating systematic trading frameworks. He also placed second in the Mathematics Olympics Team competition in Jacksonville, Florida in 2015, and is a member of the American Mathematical Society.
Today, as a Partner in the Latin America Division at ABX Capital Partners, Jorge supports the firm’s research and strategy development efforts, working across quantitative modeling, data analysis, and structured experimentation. Fluent in Spanish and English, he brings precision, focus, and strong execution to the firm’s research pipeline and operational initiatives.
Jorge is committed to building robust processes, validating ideas rigorously, and translating mathematical structure into repeatable trading insights. His goal is straightforward: develop clear, data-driven approaches that scale in real markets.
